Help injured troops go karting. KartForce is a non-profit organisation that gets injured troops karting using hand controls that they have designed. Their hand controls allow troops that have lost one, two or three limbs to compete on a totally level playing field – check out the short videos on their web site – www.KartForce.org.
KartForce needs your support to raise funds so they can get more injured troops karting. They can send you leaflets, posters and collection boxes so people can make donations.
KartForce also want to create a KartForce Team so they can enter mainstream kart races in 2012, both individual and team events. They want to purchase two competition ProKarts, a trailor and all the gear, plus ensure they get plenty of practice. Dave from KarForces says, “We have two 20-year-old double amputees who have been very impressive so far, as well as a triple amputee and several single-leg amputees – all lads blown up in Afghanistan. Karting has given these lads something new to get their teeth stuck into and they’re all really keen to do some serious competitive racing.”
If you’re interested in supporting KartForce or want to hold a karting event to raise funds, please contact Dave on dave@kartforce.org or 0782 462 8029.
